ANNOUNCING SCRUFFS

Delighted you dropped by for a spot of tea with me, Miss Enid Wheelie on Wheels. Miss Lacie was here the other day for her birthday tea. A sweet girl but somewhat lacking in Manners of Etiquette.

Wearing millinery at the tea table. Not using one's pastry fork. My oh my. However. I digress. Over tea Miss Lacie proposed a thrilling idea. To hold a show exclusively for one's Antique Wheeled Stuffies! New generation Wheeled copies of us Antique old ones are welcome to enter too.

A most agreeable idea. Quite top hole dearest Lacie. I 've named the show SCRUFFS in honour of our fine antique heritage. (As opposed to our Old Blighty dog show Crufts. Giggle.) It's to be held on Eric's blog with prizes for the winners! Tokens only I'm afraid, owing to Eric's wise countenance that War Rationing is still in force plus my pension allowance is somewhat small.

You will be able to vote for readers choice once the entries are posted. However, do remember Eric is the Supreme Judge. What will he be looking for? Dog knows. He's written such stricts rules, I do apologise dears. For some reason he wants to know every wheelies ambitions too. Stuff and nonsense. As if we were plotting some wheelie takeover . . . .

SCRUFFS RULES OF ENTRY. WRITTEN BY ERIC.
  1. FOR ORIGINAL WHEELIE ANTIQUES. THEIR YOUNGER GENERATION WHEELIES. PLUS WHEELIES THAT BLOG ON WHEELIE WEDNESDAY.
  2. Categories are Family Wheelie Groups & Single Wheelies. The same wheelie may be entered in both.
  3. Photo entries only. No wheeling over. Any of you. Ever.
  4. No photoshopping to be used on your entry. Pretty please.
  5. Considerable bonus points will be awarded for your photo creativity. For example :- Wheelie in an Unusual Situation. Best Use of a Pesky Wheelie.Wheelie showing off your Locality. Wheelie attempting Something Wheelie Dangerous. Haaaahaa!! Remember it's ME ERIC doing the judging of them horrid nuisances.
  6. One entry only per blog for Family Wheelie Groups.
  7. Two entries only per blog for Single Wheelies.
  8. What I bark. Goes. I can do what I like with your entry. Teehee. My judging is it. Final.
  9. Use the email link on my sidebar to send your entry photo by March 14th latest please and call the file attachment by your name.
  10. Please give a little information with your photo entry.

Miss Enid's entry might be like this : -

  • Owners Name:- Eric
  • Wheelies/Family Name:- Miss Enid Wheelie on Wheels/Eric's Wheelies
  • Approximate age; - Ancient.
  • Pedigree and Birthplace :- Pedigree Soft Toys of Ireland.
  • Ambition : - To teach Matters of Etiquette to all dogs to bring about Wheelie World Peace.
For those very few readers wondering where Eric is today, he's busy. In fact. I do believe he may be tied up. With something or other . . . giggle. . . .

Brilliant contest. We will have to watch from the sidelines as Hector is not nearly old enough and is an amputee wheelie anyway.

Francesca is smiling very broadly as she will be entering but mom sorta designed Miss Autumn's pumpkin wheels so that would be kind of cheating and we don't want to put Judge Eric in a tizzy!
This is going to be fun!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Oh my...what about Wheelies like that fellow who did have wheels but have them no longer. I know there is at least one of them out there.

We don't have any (wheels or wheelies) but we are looking forward to this greatly.

Our wheelie-look alikes will be honored to enter the contest and hope their adopted ancestry will not create any political upheavals.

We congratulate Eric, our Square Dog pal, for such a clever idea!! What boring lives our leggeds would lead were it not for us, right?

Wirey woofs,

Jake and Just Harry

That sounds very exciting Eric, we know quite a few very cool wheelies but alas we have yet to see a wheelie basset!
Of course we do have a large cuddly basset.....mmmmmm wonder if we could get it a set of wheels!
Anyway we are, as ever, off at a tangent.
Sounds fun and we look forward to it.

Hiya Square C!

I know very little about Etiquette. I don't even know how to spell it so Ma helped.

How could any doggie be expected to pick a winner? I know how lovely Miss Autumn is and she has many purty hats ...I think I'm partial to her because of the obvious!!

But just one winner? And norwood has a good point..he doesn't have wheels. OHMY Someone send him a used cycle!!

You would make the bestest Supreme Judge!! I could never make a decision so BIG!!

I'll be watching from the wings.

Mucho Love, Autumn

Ya want me to bring the ketchup?? Stan and I are partial to sawdust!!!

I dunno...you've caused a lot of dust to be stirred up by those critters..I hear em wheelin' and squeakin' bout it now...

So much fun! Don't give up on us! We'll enter! For sure!!! We may be entering at the last minute, though. Moma is working HARD on a very special project!

We did get the poster on our page ... and we'll give it more attention. In the meantime, Moma's mind is wheely cranking away (believe it or not) trying to help us come up with photoshoot plans.

Back to the project.

I thought Eric had left them in Egypt.
How can I enter all the wheelies look like Square dogs, I have never seen one like me, and can you imagine a little Yorkie wheelie. Now that's an idea I could stuff him with what came out of other stuffies. Yes I am off to find some wheels.

Dearest Miss Enid. I have commandeered the laptop for a very short time to let you know that I am delighted about the opportunity to once again be reunited. I will be sure to (somehow) unite my new family into one proper sitting so that we may ALL join you, as a family, in London. It will be a challenge, but I can assure it you it will happen. And to think: we will ALL be able to gather. Even my ancestors that I've never met.

Once we arrive, is it possible that we have some sort of special security? I am a bit worried about our integrity. In more ways than one. I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm not sure we will all fit into the wire confines that I was able to use when I was living with you.

We may have to draw straws as to whom will represent our family in the Individual Entries. Right now I have no idea how that will develop. But, knowing this group, it will. With flair. Or pomp. Or something. Definitely circumstance.

Actually, the family is quite excited and I am serving to keep them focused on what is at hand.

For now, I will see that someone prints out the Rules of Entry. Then I can be assured that between breaths and laps (things are a bit wild in our home right now) no details are left out in their thinking. To whom do you think I should turn this over?

It's time for tea. I always think of you when I am sipping it.

With much love,
Winston (wheelie the spokeman for our family)
