ON THE DOG AND BONE

Hey everybloggie! How's your week? All I've been doing is a down stay by the Dog and Bone. HAAA!! That's cockney rhyming slang for a telephone. Cos my sweetie Toffee might give me a bell. You know my big buddy Petey gave Toffee a mobile so she could call me? What a pal!!! High five paws Petey!!!

Here's Toffee dialing me up. You can see more when you visit her blog. Boy oh Boy. Isn't she a b..b.bbbbbbbeauty? Ahhh... those c...c..cccccute earses...makes my spotty belly go all jjjjjjj jjjelly. My heart all of a ffffluttter. My square head fffff fuzzzy wuzzzy. Which makes me s...s..sssssst st stutter when I talk to her. Crikey. What's gone wrong with my bark box?

But I was wagging worried when Mom told me my behaviour when the bone rings is NOT that of a gentledog. What???! Running to the bone to alert the leggeds and barking my square dog head off is not pawlite???? Since when???? Mom put me in training this week to answer that old dog and bone. Pawlitely.

Need to make a good impression. Been trying out my new manners every time Toffee calls.

Oops!!! Sorry. Got ringing in your ears Toffee? Dog-a-blogging committed though huh? Dropping whatever I'm doing so I can yip-yap to you.

Yep, my manners are improving.(click the video, it's short and sweet) Need more practise...hint to call me TTTTTT TTT Toffee.

hot line

Now I'm waiting for my good night dog and bone call. Seems to come about dawn. Weird that. You all give it zzzzzedzzzzs very late your side of the big pee?

When Toffee called I told her I'm a bbbbbbit bbbbbbb bbbetter bbbbbbbbut my vet is sending me for AL.ER.GGGGGG testing. Vettie thinks my itchie scratchies are enviromental. Nothing to do with food. Still staying on the Ant.T.His.T.Meens. My 1 protein diet. And I'm down tttttttttto wearing one sssssssss sssock. SSSSS SSSSShucks!!! That's NOT what I planned to bbbbbark about. Have to send her something ssssslopppy. So Bloggies. HELP!!! I'm in need some Barking Good Yap Up Lines. And remedies for my Bark Box. Know any? I'd be wagging grateful.

Wow! I have to wait for muzzer to answer the phone for me. Usually pals call on the cell, which is hard to open without thumbs, ya know? You are one lucky duckie

Eric, Mommy made those silly sounds she makes around babies and puppies when she saw that photo of you sleeping with the phone by your ear. And the skill you show when answering the phone is impressive, even if you stutter once you begin to speak. Clearly, even the canine education experience is better in the UK than in the US. I don't even open an eye when the phone rings.

But then again, I'm not a love-struck pup!

I'll dictate some smooth lines for you to Mommy - she can pass them along to your 2-leggeds. Just remember—American girls adore a British accent! Hugh Grant flustered through his first dozen romantic comedies, barely getting an entire sentence out and the American birdies just swooned. (Okay, Mommy included. Then she discovered that other stuttering chap Ben Chaplin. And now she's on to Alan Rickman but frankly, he scares me. If he told me to do a sit-stay, my butt would petrify before I'd dare get up.)

And remember, you can never go wrong with "no, no, dear - tell me more about YOU!"

Your pal,

Petey

Hi, Eric!
I saw Toffee calling you in her blog.
Sure it is not easy to answer that phone but looks like you are improving your skills!
Itches and socks? Does not sound like a good combination but sure I hope you get better soon!
Kisses and hugs

You sure are one lucky dude, my lady never calls me. She is rather busy, though. Enjoy your phone calls, you are quite talented to be able to answer the phone on your own.

You're so lucky that you can talk to each other any time of the day or night! Make sure your voice sounds gruff and sexy, Eric! Toffee won't care what you say! The sound of your voice is enough!

Love ya lots,

hi Eric, we saw Toffee's cell phone. that sure is cool, and you are so lucky to get to talk to her. but you have to get a grip on yourself, dog, no stuttering and stammering. you need to sound cool and suave. give her some gentle gruffs and she will love it.

woofs.

Eric...I'm thinkin' that Toffee might like you to read some sonnets to her over the phoneie...by that guy Shakespear?? If you don't have to think about what to say you'll probably stop stutterin'...actually, you Brits have some amazin' poets...or you could read her some lines from some of the classics???!!!

Go for it Eric...

Frankly, Toffee is so head over paws in lovey dovey with you, you could probably read her ur mum's shoppin' listie and she'd swoon!!

Wow Eric...

Ya do a pawsome job answerin' the phone....hope ya get ta talk ta Toffee soon.......she should be callin' right soon and ya can have some good phone sex......er, is that only fer sick hoomans????

When Gram lets the phone ring around here my Mom howls like crazy.....must hurt her ears.....course ya should never just let the phone ring anyway....always answer it.....could be important fer sure....but now they can see who is callin' and so it doesn't always get answered.

Don't know what ya can do ta cure yer sick barker.......maybe try stickin' yer toenail in the electric socket...see if ya get the shock of yer life...'n a sure fire cure too....or just settle down......Toffee will love ya no matter how ya sound......relax and enjoy the experience....

Oh glad yer socks are helpin' ya.....I kept takin' mine off....then there was that super glue on my ear....didn't like it at all but it worked....it's all healed....and the glue has released the ear again too....so now I have 2 rotatin' ears instead of just one.....

And that was how my week went....hope this week is better....

Your phone answering is impressive Eric, but then you have a lot of incentive to get it right. That Toffee is one pretty lady.

Hi Eric

We are very impressed as we are not allowed near the phone. Something about drooling beards and a wet handset, cannot see the problem ourselves!

Hope your itchies go away soon. Are you wearing Christmas sockies now?

Oh wow, you are allowed on the phone? You sure are lucky! Now don't worry about the lines, just be your handsome self when you talk!

Stanley said...

Eric Boy!

Sounds to me as if you don't need any pick up lines since Toffee is already BONKERS about you. Just relax and be yourself, man.

Your phone answering sans opposable thumbs is amazing! Glad you caught it on film!

Goober love,
Stanley

You are getting really good at answering the phone!

Does the vampire vet have to take your blood for the test, or is it on your skin? I hope it's not too bad.

Your friend, Lenny

I just got a chance to watch your videos!! They are great!! Eric you are so talented! I need "staff" (read "mom") to answer my phone!

We are delaying sending out your Christmas card so that your pawrents will be home to receive it (card and a little surprise for you).

as an aside...my mom changed the ringer on her cellie to those dogs that sing rather "bark" jingle bells!

woof!

Well I'm impressed, Eric. I can't answer a phone at all. But I do listen to it when Papa calls. Mama puts the phone to my ear and my head tilts to the side because I hear Papa but I don't see him. Phones mix me up. But I'm glad it's a good experience for you. You and Toffee must be burning up the wires! Good stuff.x
