THE DOGGIE DERBY

THE DOGGIE DERBY 2009

LOCATION;- HOME PARK AT HAMPTON COURT PALACE

COMMENTATOR;- ERIC LITTLE STUFFIE

PHOTOGRAPHY:- SQUARE MOM (complaining how darn difficult it is to get three zooming dogs in one shot)

Thanks for tuning in everybloggie. We're here for the first ever Doggie Derby!!! Being held at Home Park, situated behind Hampton Court Palace. It's three kilometers of wide open beautiful green space. Perfect for the race, even includes a golf course with right of way for a bit of a diversion.

Take your seats for a grandstand view cos the competitors are already here looking lickety spit and lively. Despite King Simba and Princess Jazzi arriving via their Royal Liner down the River Thames. While Eric Square walked his wig wag here from Square house. What?!! Was that wise before the big race??? Want a looksee at the competitors form bloggies before placing your bet on the poll on the sidebar?

NO 1. King Simba. Owned and trained by NSF Daddy and Mommy. Three year old. A fine Lhasa Apso. Regal. Steady and calm. But slightly wobbly legged from the boat ride.

No 2. Princess Jazzi. Owned and trained by Simba's Man Servants. A Jug. Pug/Jack Russell Cross. 6 months old. Untried runner. Unpredictable. Excitable. Recovering from a dose of Dye Your Ears. Lively. Long leggededs.

No 3. Eric Square Dog. Wiley Fox Terrier. 3 year old. Going on 6 months. Loopy. The jealous type. Loves being chased. Always on the look out for a free lunch.

The competitors are assembled in the parade ground strutting their stuffies. Look at this...

King Simba's on a Royal walkabout!!!! Inspecting Eric. From Port to Starboard.

Then. Stem to Stern.

Next up. The cheeky Royal pair....

try the old intimidation routine on Eric. " Nah nah na nah na. Can't catch me eee.Tee.He.Hee". Uh oh. Here comes the Royal trainer NSF Daddy....

pointing out last minute tactics to the RH's. Don't forget. Place your bets everybloggie before the race begins. And remember to visit Simba and Jazzi's bloggie for further coverage. Right. They're at the starting post. Okey dokey doggies? Ready? Steady. Go!!! And they're OFF!!!

Eric positions himself in the outside lane for a quick getaway. Showing us a clean pair of heels from his bath the day before. While brother and sister stick together. Hurtling down to Long Grass Pass, it's Eric in the lead and oooo ......

Simba and Jazzi both seem to be up to their Royal necks in it!!!! These doggies are MOTORING...to the tricky Sandy Bunker Turn at the halfway mark. Go! Go! Go! Clock that Eric...

Xecuting a pawfect turn. Jazzi right on his tail. Nooooo!!!! Eric's barking "chase me" while zooming up and down the bunker....

and Simba's trying out his blocking tactic as per NSF Daddy's instruction. Made Jazzi's tail curl just watching. Before she ....

sprinted off. Eric's catching her...Simba's flyin'. Them dogs are HOT TO TROT!!! Into the home run and it's Eric!!! Eric's in the lead!!! Chased by Jazzi while Simba....

seems to closing in. What a great finish this is going to be. Those competitors are SMOKIN'!!!HOT HOT.HOT. Who's your money on bloggies? Could be a photo finish.

It is!!! Eric's first over by a head!!! Simba's close behind. Piping his sister past the post!!! Woohoooo!!! What a fine finish eh everybloggie???!!!! What a race. You can tell those dogs were loving every minute. Had the bestest time. As the competitors slowly make their way back to the local watering bowl we can see...

Jazzi, peed off by the constant puparrazi attention, giving them a rude gesture. Later over drinks at the watering bowl, the trainers and owners discuss a rematch. And Simba

smug as a Pug. Or a Jug (like his blister) sits on Square Mommy's lap. Getting right Royal attention. Phew. Lucky jealous Eric was asleep. Looks like Simba's the winner after all!!! Know what Big Eric told me later though? He had a fab time with the Royals and their leggededs. Thought Jazzi and Simba rocked. And King Simba rules.

Hi everybloggie! How are you? I'm happy as my friend Happy. Take a peek at the award Happy presented me with. Thanks a million Happy. Way cool. Like it? Please take it,from me to you. I think all your blogs are Cool. Freezing.Tee,hee!

The Royal Mail van visited me this week too. Clock the new logo on the side of the van. Rightly Royal huh?

Dropped off a parcel for Eric Square Dog. Wait up, that's me! Parcel for me? From none other than His Majesty. King Simba. A Royal pardon? A Summons? A Knighthood? (Arise Sir Eric! )

Goosey Gander what was inside?

This socking big stocking! Filled with luscious lollipops. And a pawsonally signed card. Plus his likeness. Note what the label says Mother. For a GOOD BOY. Nuff said. Thanks a squillion Simba. What a lovely surprise. Simply pawfect. And organised. Dog-a-blogging impressive. Only November! Must of got his servants permanently at his Beg and Recall. Wonder how he did that? Leggededs haven't even got my cards ready.

I kissed Simba's paw print in humble homage and gracious gratitude. As a good subject should. (Hmmmm...think I can sell the Royal Paw Print on Mr.E.Bay?)

And paw-formed a deep Royal Bow before his presence. Well, as Royal as a subject wearing one sock can manage. Haaaaaaa!

Barking of socks, I'm off to the vets again next week bout my AL. ER. GEES. To determine the next step. Either a blood or skin test. I've been feline a bit better this week too. Hooray. Not so itchy-scratchy. Hope my good pal Archie with his AL.ER.GEES is feline better too. Please wag your wig by, wish him well.

A KINGS RANSOM

Dog-a-bloggies, I've been in a wag of excitement all this week. Got my parcel exchange the other day! You got yours? Came in this special van. A Royal delivery from Simba King. Clock those dents in the Royal Van. Been driven by a paw driver. Paw driver? Get it? Tee,hee, heeee.

Simba King, you know him ? He's a Right Royal Pup. Sent me a van load of goodies. Want a peek ?

Can't do anything without brother Otis wanting to join in. Nosey in my parcel.Wanting to lick MY yummmmalicious bone. Bat my ball. Taste the treaties. Nibble on my veggie bones. Tug the tuggie toy. Even tried to whisker his way into my new book. Dastardly Book for Dogs - by Rex and Sparky. DOGS Otis. For Dogs.

Dastardly Book is pawfect for a novice dog like me. A billion and one new ways to be a rascal. Jump out of the Handbag and into the Mire. Get back to being proper dogs. I'm reading a few pages in bed every night before lights out. Boy oh Boy are there some good tips in there. For instance. What's edible? The books star rates Vomit ***** Stars. Poo *****Stars! Here's what is says. Vomit/Poo. Your front and back ends are basically round the clock delis, dispensing convenient and renewable munchies. If you were really enthusiastic about that two week old polish sausage, but it didn't sit well with your stomach the first time, this is like winning a second chance. WoW! Great idea, double bubble on the treats front for ever!!!

Thank you a million Simba King. Long may you reign.Three cheers for the King! I playbow to you in humble gratitude for all my pawfect presents. Sorry not to stop around. Got a lot to do.

Like contemplate my presents while chomping on my new bone.

Have a game or twenty of tuggie with my new tug toy

Another chew of my lip-licking lovely bone.

And read my book at bedtime. Night. Night.

Pee. S. Look at the foxy Forever Foxed Thank You card Jackson sent me. He's so pawlite.
Thanks for the Thank You card pal!

I'm scooting. Got a cat to bury and a bone to play with. Heehehehehe! Me Eric Dastardly. Signing off.
