THE INVADER

Bloggies. Had an unexpected visitor to Square Dog Garden the other day. A fox on my hot shed roof. Bold as brass a-snoozing in the afternoon sun. Course. I barked my head off at him.

Did he give a fig? No. Give a care? Nope. Not a trot.

No manners either that street talking fox.

Cheek of it! My fine wiry self an impostor?!

Barked right back at him " Yeah. We'll see who's what" Heck. Had a mouth on him that one. Along with terrierfying teeth. Strangely. Very similar to mine.

Can you believe it? Oh. The shame. Squares only went and dragged me back from my window sentry post. Blabbing how his bite could be worse than his bark.Or mine. Just when I was in full flow telling him how my foxy self was WIRED.

Mr. Fox sunbathed and snoozed the afternoon away. Seen him since then too. Strolling along my shed roof as if he owned it. Though bloggies. Got to admire his clever camouflage. Crafty eh? Sort of handsome too in his non doggy way. Xpect Lacie will be asking me for his phone number any day now.

Give him a job Eric. Like training him to be your bodyguard?
Cheers!

My but he is a handsome fella. Bark back at him that he has only one name (fox) and you have three. And you get three square meals a day, don't have to sleep in the rain or cold and can have treats that you don't have to kill first!

Hey...what is Mr. Fox is actually MISS FOXY and she's focusing her peepers on YOU!

Your pal,

Petey

Eric, we always know when we come here that your adventures will have been good, and you never disappoint us! If I were closer, I'd help you teach that fox who's in charge! The nerve of that fellow!

Wow, he looks rather scary. I wouldn't want to mess with him. He could hurt you very badly, and that means a vet. I don't particularly enjoy going to the vet, and I don't think many dogs do. Y'all have foxes, and we have cougars. Cougars eat doggies, and I don't want to be eaten. Oh, he was rude! How horrible.

OMD, a real fox!! I am so excited!! I never saw a real fox and here I am, a wire fox terrier, too. And you, Eric, have seen a real fox up close and personal. Wow!! I am very impressed. For a while I didn't even know that there were real foxes left. I thought all we fox terriers got rid of them. Actually, I didn't believe that they even existed. I thought that they were made up by someone who wanted to give us fox terriers something to do besides look cute.

Good luck with that sly critter, Eric, and do what a fox terrier's gotta do!

Love and Lots of Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

pee ess You know, your fox is very handsome. I can see why Lacie would be interested.

Eric, what a cheek that fox had, just sleeping there in your garden.
What great pics you got of him!
We saw a fox yesterday when we were in the park but he was too far away for a good shot and we soon sent him packing.
Why oh why didn't your Squares let you out!
That fox thinks he owns the place now and it is YOUR garden Eric, not his!!!
Do your Squares not understand the territiorial rules!
Oh you are going to need to come up with a plan to evict him.
Let us know if you need us to come help!
love and kisses

How rude he was to just hang out in your garden without asking your permission, Eric! He needs to practice up on his manners! We bet Lacie will see right through his handsome exterior and give him the cold shoulder!

Love ya lots

That is a cute fox...and so brassy!! Why do these wild things think they can invade OUR spaces?! Tonite a skunk was leavin' his smell all around the outside of our place. We went a bit nuts, but mommy wouldn't let us outside and has kenneled us so we'll calm down. Lucky she couldn't see him or she'd probably make us pose for a photo with it!!

That is actually very neat! Here in Arizona we have plenty of coyotes, and some grey foxes, but they don't tend to stick around much! The photos are great!

hey Eric! that's a pretty cool visitor that you had. you were right to bark your head off at him. visitors need to be told the rules. that fox didn't want to listen to you though. maybe you two can make friends and start a gang.

woofs.

Eric. That fox has scary eyes in one of those pictures. We think he may have outfoxed you, foxy boy. We'd be giving him a wide berth on that hot shed roof. Yep. Maybe he'll toast his tootsies and trot right away.

In the meantime you might advise him. He can tuck that long snout and hide his white jaws, but that tail that he dipped in white paint totally ruins his camoflauge. Now we KNOW who's the smarter of you two.

Amuse him Eric. He simply does not know any better.

Eeeeewwww Eric....a fox right in yer yard...how excitin'......the "FOX" in WIRE FOX TERRIER 'n ya had one of yer own ta bark at......can ya believe that in the "OLD" days we wires chased those vermin right inta their holes? While those silly red clad hunters galloped around on horses.......lettin' us do all the work?????? I tell ya it's a good thing that we got liberated....

Oh and about the baby bunnies and chicks......Grandam Judy would be heartbroken if any of us hurt any of them.....notice I said would be heartbroken.....'n that's becuz she usually gets that ways once in a while....heartbroken, that is......why...ya may ask....well my Mom's sister, Jewels, chases Grandma Judy's chickens all the time and usually only ends up with a mouth full of feathers.....Grandma Judy is thankful fer that small blessin'....

And it seems like the bunnies have been havin' litters all our Grandma Judy's yard and they don't hide the babies very well all the time and Jewels got one of 'em the other day....it was screamin' like a banshee...and Grandma Judy came right out ta try and save it but Jewels had already done it in.....it's not one of the babies in my report but a different litter. I tell ya the bunny mother moved the rest of her kids after that incident....the baby chicks are safe in the chicken coop.....bet Jewels finds a way in there pretty soon.....then she'll share her info with the rest of us...

Dewey Dewster here.....
