THIS OLD HOUSE

Busy a frustrating week here in Square Dog House. Being painted outside. And. A BIG AND. My Sentry Point for Barking - the tall floor to ceiling window with my pawfect view over the street - is being all dug up. And done up. Inside an out. The sentry point is Georgian. Dog-a- blogging old. Like well over 250 years. No wonder it needed repairing.

Mr. Chips the carpenter has been chiseling. Carving. Crafting. Curving wood all week. Carefully replacing the bottom of the old curvey window. The 2 leggededs keep on and on muttering how it's going to cost them an arm and a leggeded. Crikey! Think that mean no treats for me?

But worse bloggies. Much worse. I've been denied entry. To my Sentry Point for Barking. My Barking Service denied for unsuspecting passers by. Dogs who dare to stare. And sometimes nothing at all needs a bit of a bark. What's a dog to do? Discussed it with Otis kittie.

Pawlitely play bowed to ask him if he fancied a bit of Barking elsewhere with me? Whiskered he didn't.

Not even when I showed him how my big ballooning belly of unreleased barks.

Just peered in my mouth. Confirmed what I knew. My square mouth was full to the brim with Unbarked Barks.

Mr Chippy has been working under my supervision. Better not be for much longer. Normal barking sevice needs to be resumed in Square Dog Town. Plus these barks of mine need releasing. Before I burst.

When the window is finally finished and the house painted we might have one of those blue plaques. They put them up to show the famous people who lived there. They read "BLAH BLAH BLAH lived here" with the date. One saying "Eric Square Dog Barks Here" is sure to be put up any day now.

The house up the road has one. A Blue plaque. Looking a bit old like the famous person who really DID live there, tee, he,he!! For some reason it makes Mommi giggle every time we wag past.

I l.o.v.e. love your barking station, and think it is very nice of the humans to have it spiffed up for you. When finished, it will be a fabulous frame for your square wirey self.

Our house here is almost 90 years old. The house in Azrizona was more than 50. Are the parents in retrograde mode? I don't know, but if the next one doesn't have inside plumbing, I am not sharing the back yard

Eric, You're welcome to come here and visit me and take over either of my two favorite barking spots. In the morning, it's on the bed, looking out the window at the park across the street. Got to make sure those dogs getting early walks aren't rewriting MY peemails. Then after a spot of breakfast, I have to move Mica off his perch on the daybed in the living room so I can lounge AND watch the street below for bark-worthy situations.

We laughed alot at that sign! When we were down in South Carolina, we visited Mommy's friend Nan who lives in historic Beaufort. She has a sign in her house in the historic district that reads "On this spot in 1897, absolutely nothing happened." (Remember, we Yanks put a historic plaque on anything older than 100 years!)

Your pal,

Petey

Eric...is this some new type of medical issue?? Do I need to come? Perhaps some type of medication to help with the abdominal distention...like a barxative...fig newtons...now I know you British dogs don't dig the figs, but they will help. A half a bag of Fig Newtons will free ur um barks. You will be so busy in ur garden, you won't even remember you are barkipated. Yep...ask Archie bout the cure...

Love and kissies...Lacie

When do we get to see pix of the rest of ur house?????????

Eric!!!

Watch out for those cat claws! I get those to the nose all the time. But mostly it's 'cause I nose them lots, but I only do it 'cause they like it!

I hope the home repainting is done soon and your world returns to normal!

Stay handsome and stylish my friend!

Sorry I haven't been around to check on you and all, but you know...humans, blah, blah, blah...

Slurp!

Oh Eric - I will bark...or rather howl...with you!! Pick me, pick me!

Mom says she laughed when she saw the Keith Richards plaque...especially the comment! I think that you need your own plaque for sure.

Not too much longer until Mom and Dad find out if they got into the LOndon marathon (the magazines are being mailed next week).

We can't wait to see your barking spot when it's all finished! 250 years is a loooooong time! Our mom loves old historic houses. They just seem much more cozy than the new ones! We hope you get to release those barks soon!

Eric, when all the work is done you'll need a sign that says, "Eric Barks Here." Then maybe no one will disturb it again. Hope you get lots of belly rubs because unbarked barks can be a little bloating ... I bet we'll hear your first bark right across the pond! Have a good week, my friend.

It's nice to meet you Eric! Thanks for checking out my blog. I really hope your sentry is fixed soon! That's a very important job to have and it's something that a faithful canine absolutely must do!

Wow Eric, I hope your sentry point is fixed soon. I think I would EXPLODE if I had trapped barks inside me! I think our neighbours might be relieved though, hehehe! J x

Hi Eric,
Thanks for dropping by.
You were so busy with your supervision job but still managed to visit friends.
I love the cool idea having one blue plaque saying "Eric Square Dog Barks Here", hehe!
Be careful, Eric, I didn't see you wear hard hat and safety boots in that construction site at all.
Cheers!

DESERT PUPS said...

Woof Eric,

We agree with Chef, you need a sign that says 'Eric barks here'. That would be so pawsome. Hope you're doing well.
