HERO

One of my first blogging friends, my number one all time hero Jackson, left us behind today. My heart's heavy with sadness for him and his J's. Jackson my square cousin.

I'm really going to miss your handsome foxy face.

Hope you know your smart observations . . .

and devilish funny ways always made me laugh and smile.

Your bravery through way too many bad times . . .

and true terrier tenacity in making the best of life was inspiring.

Those fox trotting debonair airs . . .

and your perfect fashion sense made this dog- a-blogging boy downright envious!

The substantial club you founded. That I yearned to join. More importantly. Your substantial heart and friendship. Thank you. Thank you.

Then there's all those admirable achievements. Champion stuffie destroyer! Promise I'll do my best. Try not to let you down.

Count my blessing I actually got to meet you sniffer to sniffer my special chum.

I'll miss you like mad. Run free Jackson my hero. Fast as the wind. One day I'll come by,give you a game of chase. Until then. Know you, our foxy leader, is king amongst kings of the wiries. An all round proper perfect square.

Wiry love Jackson. Your pip squeak pal. Eric xxx

Hey Eric, Even though we are not wires, we have so many wirey friends and recognize the leader that left us today. We are so glad Ami and flat Asta got to meet you and in turn y'all got to meet the King of Wires in "dawgson". We think you gave a pawsome tribute. We will look for the new bright stars tonight in the heavens.

Well, Eric. You did it. You made Moma start sniffing and wiping her eyes again. You took us right into Jackson's life. And gave us a tour of that square dog's mark on life. You made us smile. Wag our tails. Tear up and look with cocked heads at Moma, trying to figure out what she was thinking. She's been hold Olde Soul close, listening to his stories of Jackson. Trying to sniff some Jackson sniffs right out of Olde Soul's remnants of fluff. Listening for gentle stories of their time together. Feeling just a bit more connected, knowing Olde Soul was snooter to snooter with Jackson just a few short weeks ago.

Sad days like this are hard. But it helps a wee bit, knowing we're not alone in our sadness.

Kisses to the wind. Hoping some of them will make it over the pond, and others up and over the Bridge.

Love you wirey ones.

Truly the King is dead, long live the King! What a noble fighter to the end, and as I told the Js', ever the gentleman, sparing them a heart-breaking decision. Sleep well gentle soul. Eric, I think you're just the wiry fellow to take on Jax's crown....

Your pal,

Petey

Oh Eric...

Oh Eric...

We are devastated...two friends in one day. We knew it was coming...but one is never prepared.

We loved your post...that pic on the sands...Square and Sea...

My flat self heard Jax whispering to you the day we visited...secrets of the ages? Wisdom being passed down from old to young?

Step up to the plate Eric...you have substantial paws to fill...

The Terriers bow in remembrance to Jackson...

And bow toward Eric...(Lacie appears to stick her out tongue, but maybe she found some peanut butter on her beard?...)

Remembering and respectful barks,

Scruffman, Miss Lacie and Stanley

Eric,

Thank you for bringing a smile to my teary face. While I did not have the op-paw-tunity to know THE King as pawsonally as you I still feel the loss to the DWB world and the giant "hole" left behind in our hearts.

Thanks for showing me pictures of the good times so that I can smile through the tears.
