ZOOMING IN THE ZOOMER

Been a busy old week for me bloggies. Did you happen to clock the Royal command to me from HRH Bailey in my chat box? Eric, could you bring the car round - we would like to go for a spin in the country. It is so good to have loyal subjects. From them Basset skin and blisters, Just Martha and HRH Bailey. Had no choice but to obey did I?

Zoomed up in my car to Scotty Land.
Oh boy I was bursting with pride
To pick up the lassies a-waiting

“Hop in! Let’s get going!” I cried.

But the lassies were back seat driving
As I drove pressing paws on the tooters.
"Laddie slow down! I’m loosing my crown

And the sniffs pass too fast for our snooters.”

As I swerved and screeched down the roadies
Just Martha, to Bailey, cried
“Och Eric! Look out for Miss Myrna!

Take care! Don’t knock her aside.

“Eric no speeding! Say’s forty!
And One’s in need of a play with one's toys.
Can you stop at the nearest pet shop?

"I’ll pick up a sheep. And some boys.”

“Does Royalty have to halt here?”

Bailey barked as I stopped at the lights.
Thank dogness both lasses fell silent

At the sight of a doggie in tights.

“Och Aye! Hoots Toots! Can you ken it?
Nephew Petey!” Martha yapped in surprise.
I replied “Who would wagging believe it?

Ain't that a real sight for sore eyes!!”

I drove my car facing backwards. Tee. Heee!!

For a dare and a bit of a thrill.
“Eric do stop! One's hearts all a-plop.

We're both feeling decidedly ill.”

As I screeched. And braked. Turned wheelies.
Gave my zoomer a bit of a spin.
Those lassies yapped out
“Och laddie!
Can we stop at a pub for a gin?”

Tired Bailey now said "Eric Home. Need my Bed!"

“No zooming!! And I'll dub you an Earl.
As if. This foxies hard wired.

But that Bailey. Ain't she quite some girl?

Haa, haaa!! Bailey must of forgotten I've already got me a title. Yonks and yonks ago. Most appropriate.

My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is:
Most Noble and Honourable Eric the Radiant of Piddletrenthide on the Carpet
Get your Peculiar Aristocratic Title

Oopsie so yonks ago it's no longer there. But you can buy a real genuine one here !!! Only £14.99. Billy bargain eh? Have a looksie. In the meantime might be over to give you the drive of your life in the old zoomer. (For auto buffs it's a 1959 Triumph TR3A). Seeya. Sometime. Soonest. Keep 'em peeled for me. Toot Toot!

Hi Eric
Yes we enjoyed that drive, even if it was a bit on the scary side.
You have made our mum laugh so much cos she reckons we have turned into her!!!
Yes she had a flash of insight as she read that story. It seems she has been out with her sons driving her - yes she is that old - and has felt the need for a G & T!!
That was indeed a most inspired post and what good work with the pictures.
love

PS She even points out the signs as she goes! Advising of the speed limit - that really is a bit too spot on!!!

You are quite the chauffeur and tour guide Eric. Thanks for that crazy ride around the countryside, but are you sure your passengers are all right?

You are a reckless little chap. I think the gals got more than they bargained for.

Eric!

Are you quite certain you didn't have a wee nip before you got behind the wheel? I mean - I have green fur and I'm in a tutu en pointe on the side of the road??? (You do know better than to EAT those funny mushrooms in your royal park, doncha?) The poor Aunties have already been over to my blog to reprimand me for my ensemble. Don't know what they found more appalling, my tutu or your driving!

May be awhile before HRH Auntie Bailey summons you again!

Your pal,

Petey

What an adventure. Your car rides are much more exciting than mine, perhaps you can come over and drive next time we get to go somewhere. I bet the bassets are resting VERY well after that. You do have some fun over there!

Eric, if you ever need a support driver do let us know as Taffy is a dab hand. He can clear a busy road in seconds.
Quells would be available for passengers with tender tums.........

Hi Eric

We enjoyed that so much!! Of course, the great company you had along helped hugely with the enjoyment of the trip, no doubt!

Funny, someone in this house - often requests a G&T particularly when the little man's dad is behind the wheel!!

Take care

Eric! You are a zoomie boy in that Triumph, and I love your title too. I might have to go buy me genuine one, since I've long since forgotten what my peculiar one is.

P.S. Thanks for thinking of my hard times, but they actually turned out to be not hard at all. Just a bit confusing. Although I must say, I was looking forward to that proper snooze one gets when they get knocked out for surgery. I guess I'll just have to figure out some other way to get a good nap in.

Dear Eric oh how much I enjoyed the story of your drive,

The amazing speed, the smells and the cool Ladies inside!

I adore completely your title, and hearing your wee car go Toot

Can you put in a good bark for me with Martha?
I think her and I as a couple may suit.

Her ears are luxuriously Basset,
although Bailey, if Royal, is still cute.

The sight of dear Petey in a tutu
was very funny but scary,
Is he still called Petey,or has his name changed to Mary?

But the best bit of all of your wonderful trip,
Was the pub, and the thought of the gin I might sip!

Thank you Eric for making us laff out loud with your post.

You have brought my poetry vibes back, You ARE THE MOST!

Haha, what a fun ride, you're the best wheel maneuver! Hope the lady didn't wet your leather upholstery!
Can I ride with you next time, I'll bring my own baby car seat, diaper and Valium, hehe!

You just put a whole new slant on road trips! We may have to take the wheel on the way back home and try out some of your techniques. ( If Moma doesn't stop laughing, it may be a necessity.) It sounded like great fun... glad all arrived at your final destination safely and that Myrna got across the street in one piece. (Did she meet Erikson?)

Out of breath, just reading about the trip,

Hey Eric...thanks for stopping by. I have actually never met Pickles cuz he lives at the house & I live at the shop (where all the real fun is!). Pickles gets to pick on Spud at home. A few times a day he gets this devil look about him...fangs come out & all...and then he harasses old Spud. Spud tries to hold his ground though & does a pretty good job of it. Then of course, Pickles has fun hunting all the lizards that sneak into the house. He's quite a cat...so I hear, but of course he falls into the house-cat category & I fall into the shop-cat category so we're not really in competition with one another. Sorry for you if you're the only one Otis has to boss around...that might be hard to take...hold your ground Eric & I'll be rooting for you!
your good old USA cat pal,
Bruce:)
