PETS IN THE CITY - EPISODE 2

Similar to a well known US TV Show and Block Buster Film
Episode 2 was filmed on location in the Home counties.
This episode contains scenes of an Adult Nature.
Warning. Some dogs with blogs may find
the following photography and text disturbing.

Howdie doody doggies. And a hammie. Don't you find life is sometimes a little hum drum? Not complaining. Love my life. But same old routine. Day after Day. Night after Night. Sometimes I wish for a little more excitement that's all. Here's my normal routine. Bet yours is pretty much the same. Apart from the kittie baiting and give or take a pee or two.

Frenzied morning kissies with the 2 leggededs. Excited jumping. Fetching lead. Walkies. Sniffing. Peeing. Playing. Socialising. More playing. Peeing. Sniffing. Woopsies. Peeing. Grooming. Breakfast. Chasing Kittie Brother. Playing. Office security guarding. Barking at visitors. Snoozing. Barking. The Lunch time Beg. Dog, sometimes even that's boring. Go through the begging motions because it's expected. Can't let the 2 leggededs down. And you never know it might work. Then a quick foxtrot round the block if I'm lucky. Office security guarding. Afternoon snackie. Playing. Kittie chasing. Barking. Snoozing. Kittie harassing. Fidgeting. Bored Barking. Serious Barking. Ballistic Barking. Jumping. Greeting Daddi Square. Fetching lead. Evening walkies. Sniffing. Peeing. Playing. Greeting pals. Socialising. More playing. Kissies pals bye-bye. Sniffing.Woopsies. Peeing. Dinner Time. Kittie wrestling. Kissies and cuddling with Momi. Snoozing. Barking. Peeing. Howling at the moon. Night snackie in my crate. Prayers. Kissies. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Apawlogies. Boring reading it too. So any change in routine is Big News. Big Excitements. Specially when I go to stay with Cousin Ruby. Went last weekend. Packed my crate and off we zoomed in the zoomer to Ruby's. Here she is. The big golden girl.

This is Ruby's story. Only 10 months old, down and out and in a dog shelter in Ireland. Now in Ireland a dog gets Youth in your Eyes every 5 minutes every day, except Sunday, 87% of those in shelter are Youth in your Eyes compared to 14% in the UK. Isn't that too terrier-ble? There are wooferfull 2 leggededs devoted to bringing shelter dogs from Ireland to the UK. Use their own money and rehome them until however long it takes for permanent homes to be found for them. Ruby was lucky enough to be one of these saved ones. Back in the UK my Auntie and Uncle gave her a permanent home. Yep, my cousin Ruby. The best dog a 2leggeded could have. And the best cousin a dog could have too.

We spent the day together. Got to say, she's a bit of a laddie this lassie. Up to no good. Leads me astray. Gets me into endless fixes.

Like when she finds the only puddle for miles and miles around. Then Dares Me. Too scared of her not to do it. She's big. Usually avoid puddles at all costs. Me all muddy. Loitering on the edge of the puddle. Gazing at Ruby in admiration!

Later that afternoon (after extensive bathing) my turn to think of a dare for Ruby. Pondered. Then I had it. A bolt of lightening. Strike of thunder. My Eureka moment!!! Casually woofed it to Ruby. As if no big deal. Didn't want her yapping to the 2 leggededs. Could get us into serious trouble. She was up for it, could hardly wait. Boy,oh boy. A sure dog way to brighten the end of our day.

Late evening our big moment arrived. We put our plan into action. Ignored gasps of surprise! And gasps of horror! Crashing of dropped glasses! Looks of utter amazement from the 2 leggededs! Rubes and me ignored the Paparazzi clicking away like crazy now at our every move. We just did it. Got on with it.

TOTALLY SHOCKING!!!

BED HOPPING!!! Ha,ha,ha!!!

Me. Nice and cosy. Plenty of room. Ruby. Squished. Squashed into my crate. Don't know how she managed to fit in. Tee,he!!! That Ruby. Got to paw it to her. She's a Game Girl. Always up for Game.

Next week;- More shocking tales of a scandalous and explicit nature in Pets in the City. On a computer near you.

Ahh Eric! I was exhausted just READING about your daily activities. Mine are much more sedate.

Wait for Mom to get out bed, move immediately to her spot and close eyes and pretend to be sleeping if she tries to get back into bed. Wait until she's dressed and through breakfast and comes in with the leash and says "C'mon Petey..." wag tail beguilingly, stretch, yawn, flop back over, repeat process until she gets bored and snaps leash on. Walk around the block, read pee-mails and add addendums, keep eyes open for strollers (always sweet and sticky with a chance of child dropping food), stop at magazine store for a biscuit. Breakfast, attempt to move cat out of my favorite napping spot by sleeping on him. Nap, move to other room and nap. Bark cautiously at something in the hall. Nap. Afternoon walk almost identical to morning, followed by napping. Drop ball in Mom's lap and give her the look. Nap. Maybe go to dog run. Nap. Dinner. Squeak noisiest toy while Mom watches favorite television program. Surf Muttch.com for a mate, late night walk with Bear. Most undignified lift onto the bed. Secure Mom's place. Begrudgingly move to other side of bed after displacing cat.

You're not napping nearly enough, pal.

Gaia is a bit concerned over the disparity of our sizes. Don't girls know that size doesn't matter?

Your pal,

Petey

Eric....

Wow ya looked just like my Mom does when she lays in a mud puddle....yer siree..she puts her face right down in the mud and just looks up at ya like she's sayin' "This feels so good !!!" Somehow I just don't think ya needed any coaxin' ta get in that mud....listen are ya lookin' fer a sweetie pie??? Petey doesn't seem ta think he wants my Mom but the two of ya might make a great couple.....need ta get her outta the way so I have more ball time around here....

oh, yeah got off track there.....Ruby...now there's a special friend ya have....'n it's sad ta think so many doggies don't make it in Ireland...yer Aunt 'n Uncle are pretty special ta save 'er....but she does look a mite cramped in yer crate....how much did ya have ta pay 'er ta do that?

As fer yer day....it's pretty much the same as ours except we don't get ta guard the office like ya do...'n we don't get as many walks.....we just get let out inta the yard a lot where we have destroyed the grass....

Gotta get Mom ta look at that mud picture again....what a time ya had.......what a time......

Can't wait fer another installment....

Great job of your aunt and uncle for giving that beautiful girl a home! Also, you got SERIOUSLY muddy! Not a little muddy but a WHOLE LOT muddy.

Hey Eric, my daily routine is pretty similar to yours, without the cat canoodling or kissing humans. I probably fit in more barking and peemails though.
So glad to hear that your pal Ruby has found a forever home. She looks like quite a gal. I'm superimpressed with your mud bath and the bed hopping was a pawsome idea. I think you got the better deal there though! J x

Eric...oh my. Um...DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE PICS OF YOU TWO PIGS ER DOGS IN THE MUD???

Those were pawsome!!! I strongly suspect ur peeps were so shocked they flung the camera down in disgust to drag you off to the bath. Scruffy has been that dirty before...Mumsie threw him in the creek cuz she had to put him in her car. That's when he was an only pet.

So bed hopping...heh heh heh! Actually Stan has tried to get into my crate. Actually Scruffy is sleepin' in my crate now...and i think he farted in it if my nosie tells me the correct info.

Speakin' of crates it's after midnight and I'm goin' to bed...exhausted!

Barkin' at ya sweet Eric!

Those photos are shocking! Did they have to use the jaws of life to pry her back out?

I like the mud puddle. That looks like great fun.

My days are pretty much the same except that I spend more time meditating.
